Dental Checkup

Same Day Crowns

Dental crowns work to restore your tooth to its normal shape and size. Crowns will make your teeth stronger for biting and chewing. They will also improve the overall appearance of your smile.

Dental Healing Arts provides patients with the highest quality dental crown products, which include zirconia and e.max® crowns. These crowns provide superior durability and strength while offering natural-looking results.

Are Porcelain Crowns Right for Me?

Porcelain crowns are the premier solution for your damaged teeth and the metal dental implants you received years ago. Older dental crowns and implants tend to adopt a yellowish tint and typically have a metal collar around the gumline.

At Dental Healing Arts, we use metal-free zirconia and e.max® crowns to provide the most natural-looking results possible. The translucency and color of your cosmetic dental crowns are carefully matched to your natural tooth color, rendering the brightest and most brilliant smile possible.

E.max®

Like the superior all-ceramic dental crown, IPS e.max® crowns are made from a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic, which effectively merges a delicate appearance with uncanny strength and toughness. This material is highly translucent and was designed to mirror the color and beauty of enamel, which makes it ideal for teeth.

Zirconia

Zirconia substructure crowns combine the aesthetics and high strength required to sustain chewing forces. Ceramic crowns contain no metal alloy base, which eliminates those unsightly metal lines around the gumline that eventually grays the crown.

CEREC®- Same-Day Crowns

CEREC® combines 3D digital imaging, computer-aided design, and manufacturing technology (CAD-CAM). With this technology, your dental crown is designed and perfected digitally before it’s created. CEREC® technology gives us the ability to fabricate a permanent crown restoration during your appointment!

What Happens During a Crown Procedure?

Like most dental treatments, getting your dental crown starts with a detailed consultation with Dr. Fotek. The majority of patients require the removal of current decayed or damaged material. Dr. Fotek ensures that the sound tooth structure is cleaned utilizing a holistic approach such as ozone therapy.

After the preparation work has been disinfected, the tooth is restored and fitted with a temporary restoration. You will wear this until the final crown is delivered. This temporary crown will allow Dr. Fotek to make necessary adjustments to your bite and aesthetics.

Once the temporary crown is in place, our dental laboratory will create your permanent crown. Your final crown will be ready and prepared for placement in a few short weeks. If your teeth suffer from cracks, damage, or old metal dental work, it may be time to experience the wonders of porcelain crowns.

Frequently Asked Questions About Porcelain Crowns

How Do I Care for My Porcelain Crowns?

The best part about porcelain crowns is that you care for them like your natural teeth. Make sure you brush and floss daily to prevent bacteria and plaque from building up in your gums. In any case, it’s important to visit our Jupiter office at least twice a year for a check-up and teeth cleaning.

What are the Benefits of Porcelain Crowns?

Porcelain crowns can make a world of difference in your smile, appearance, and self-confidence. They can also significantly improve your overall oral health and bite. If you have problems with the shape, color, size, spacing, or alignment of your teeth, Dental Healing Arts can help.

Dental crowns are ideal for teeth compromised by a bacterial infection, severe decay, large failing fillings, cracks, and chips; they're also used to cover your teeth after a root canal procedure. Dental ceramic crowns are durable, strong, and biocompatible, allowing you to enjoy your favorite foods again.

What is the Cost of Porcelain Crowns?

Instead of considering your porcelain crowns as a cost, it’s much more of an investment into your future and health. The overall investment is directly related to the number of teeth needed to be restored and whether any other preliminary treatments will be required.

Am I a Candidate for Porcelain Crowns?

During your consultation with Dr. Fotek, she will determine whether you are a candidate for dental crowns. However, most patients who get porcelain crowns have:

  • Large silver fillings or cracked teeth
  • Older dental crowns that are now failing
  • Teeth damaged by injury or trauma
  • Teeth that have undergone root canal therapy
  • Discolored teeth
  • Unbalanced bite
